I was good; I sat there while he ate a large steak and chips. Because it was late and I hadn’t unpacked yet, I ordered a soup not a Cambridge soup as I hadn’t got to the room yet. I wish I had had the Cambridge soup but was too hungry and needed something.

Today I stuck to the diet all day even sitting in the restaurant while other ate a large dinner. I didn’t feel hungry at all and when I got back to the room I watched a program called make yourself 10 years younger or a name similar to that. It was a bout a lady who had lost 9 stone and was left with very baggy skin and they took her through surgery to put her right. Of course I only had 4 stone 13 pounds to lose so hopefully won’t be as bad.

Actually I do have a huge confession to make though ,when I came back to the room I made a cup of filter coffee and ate the hotel biscuits so I’m really cross with my self because I know it will affect the ketosis state and will make me feel hungry as my body will now crave carbs. It’s kinda like picking a spot and making it worse. Tomorrow I must make sure I don’t do this. I have a big drive home of about 5 hours after I finish a course that finishes at 4ish.
Ive got to remember if I lose 3 stone by Christmas I can have a lovely new monsoon dress.

Really happy.. I love Cambridge diet !!!

The diet isn’t hard now because I’m in ketosis so I don’t feel hungry. I don’t have to think of meals and what to eat or not eat. So the diet gives you some freedom because it takes you away from the food addiction. I tell myself that if I cheat I’m back to square one and to be honest I’ve been there so many times. It’s not just about feeling and looking frumpy its about not feeling alive any more. Being in your forties is hardly old when you consider it’s like over fifty years before I get the telegram from the queen. And I’m younger than Madonna and bannarama lol

Heres to week two and by week five I will have lost at least a stone. My first stone.

Then I will plot my time to my next stone. By week 5/6 I should be able to work at a average so I can plot what weight I will be by what dates.. uum getting exciting. Im going to treat myself to a monsoon dress as soon as im a 14 (or small 16)

 Comments

Human stomach is the size of a closed fist

Found this article that really makes you think.. It helps you re-think food

Most of us are aware that the average human stomach is about the size of your closed fist. So let’s all hold up our fist and take a look. How much food do you think would fit in a space that size? Now consider how much food you would eat BC (before Cambridge). If you wet out to eat in a restaurant and had a high fat appetizer, a salad with dressing, some bread and butter, THEN had your large sized meal with 10 to 14 oz protein, whatever sides that it came with and then…yes…even dessert, what do you suppose would be the volume of that much food? The human stomach can stretch, that’s for sure, but when you eat so much that you actually FEEL it expanding and even feel uncomfortable after the meal, what do you suppose is happening? You stomach, which normally would accommodate about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of food, is now holding and trying to digest about 10 or more cups not counting drinks. All your body is getting involved at this point. The pancreas is pumping out insulin and the digestive juices are trying to do an impossible job. Your heart rate increases as your body tries to supply the energy needed to move this food though. Your stomach is trying to churn this mess down in to something it can find acceptable to release in to the body and your blood sugars and blood fats are increasing at an alarming rate. This is only some of what is happening in your body.

Now for the real test. Now back at home with a kitchen and a FRIDGE...
Actually felt hungry tonight. All in my mind... So drnak a huge glass of sparkling water followed by a cup of warm water. I have had all my meals so will be fine.
I know that if I break and eat then i will go back to square one in terms of going in ketosis..

 Comments

2 days and still going well

. I met my councillor Fill on Monday morning. She weighed me “shock weight” weigh like a man…
Took all my measurements and took my photo. The counsellor use her dinning room to run her business. Had really professional scales and the whole range of drinks to choose from. I chose sole source. Might as well go for it. No point in having food when I’m addicted to it. I know how to eat well but I’ve ate too much.
I chose a selection of soups milkshakes and ready made milk shakes to take to work.
I have now completed two whole days of the diet. At the moment I’m working away and staying in a hotel. I thought it would make it harder having the temptation of a restaurant menu and the offer of a full cooked breakfast. BUT no. I have had room service which consisted of a large bottle of sparkling water and a big pot of green tea (normal teas tastes bitter with out milk) the hotel gave me a soup bowl and spoon to make my soup in. I brought from home some black pepper and some spices to make the soup even yummier. Not having a fridge to look inot has been help.
While all the delegates on the course were tucking into a buffet I drank my ready made velvet chocolate milk shake and drank a large glass of water.
Reading the booklet I’ve made sure I’ve drank loads of water. Reading the booklet it says not only does it reduce the hunger pains but its also aid flushing through the by-products (toxins) that the body produces while breaking down the fat. It also stops the dizzy spells.
Your body goes into stage called “ketosis! Which means its starts to use your fat build up once it’s used all the carbs. You can buy these strips that measure if you have gone into this stage. If you cheat then you come straight out of this stage. Once in it you won’t feel hungry. I’m not there though because tonight I do feel a bit hungry. But I’m going to stick to it and get passed that stage. After all I’ve invested this money. And there is the thing about being huge and only being able to buy fat clothes lol. I’m looking forward to the weigh in on Monday. I have four stone to lose and I’m going to do it.

 Comments

The day before I start the Cambridge DIET

Tomorrow I have an appointment with a “Cambridge Diet” councillor who lives around the corner from me (which is dead handy).
I’ve been piling on the pounds since I gave up smoking 6 years ago. I’ve put on about 5 stone. It’s like I exchanged one addition for another. I correct that.. I did exchange one addition for another...

Enough is enough. I need to reduce my weight. I’m now a size 20-22 and nothing looks nice. Shopping isn’t fun. I dread any dressy events. And I hate looking my age. and hate hot weather.

This year a friend of mine who was a size 18-20 and 5ft 2 went on the lighter life diet. She started it in March.
In April we all went away to Amsterdam. She was so good. She didn’t falter. She stuck completely to it (bar some white wine) It’s now August and she is a size 12. For the last 15 years she has been chubby. And now looks great. I think seeing her do this has given me inspiration to start as well.

I have been trying to slim fast but because I still eat, it doesn’t take me away from my addition to food. Going on Cambridge or lighter life takes you away from it. Going cold turkey and craving food isn’t going to be easy.

The Cambridge councillor rang me today to arrange an appointment. Tomorrow at 9.45am. Fil is going to weigh me measure me and take my picture….. Must make sure I wear a nice bright red lipstick to divert away from my body lol

Wish me luck.

 Comments
